Twitter Legacy Verified Users
-HOW DOES ONE TRUE CHECK DISTINGUISH FROM FAKE ACCOUNTS?
With the introduction of Twitter Blue and the removal of the legacy verification system , impersonating a company or a person on Twitter has become much more simple.
Twitter’s legacy verification system was used to identify notable persons or organizations so that their followers wouldn’t have to. One True Check is a personal tool that displays legacy verified accounts on Twitter in your browser.
-IS THERE A FREE DEMO OF ONE TRUE CHECK?
Yes. The free demo version provides the full functionality of the extension for one week.
-DO I NEED TO LOG IN TO USE ONE TRUE CHECK?
One True Check will work even if you’re not logged in to Twitter. You will need to log in to the extension itself if you pay for the Deluxe version.
-DOES ONE TRUE CHECK SUPPORT THE TWITTER APP?
No, and it probably never will. Mobile apps can’t be customized with extensions the same way that web pages can.
-DO I HAVE TO KEEP PAYING FOR ONE TRUE CHECK?
Nope! Just one up-front payment of $1.99 USD and you can use the full version in any supported browser for life.
-WHAT LANGUAGES DOES ONE TRUE CHECK SUPPORT?
One True Check’s text is currently only available in English. However, the core functionality (the insertion of the next to usernames) should work in most languages. Right-to-left languages (e.g. Arabic) are not currently tested; they may work, but we’re not sure.
-WILL ONE TRUE CHECK WORK FOR TWEET WIDGETS?
One True Check does not yet work on Twitter widgets embedded on other websites; it will only work on the Twitter website itself.
-CAN I USE ONE TRUE CHECK ON MY PHONE?
Not at this time, due to technical limits beyond our control. Firefox for Android supports a curated list of browser extensions, but One True Check isn't on this list.
-WHAT HAPPENS IF AN ACCOUNT HAS TWITTER BLUE?
Nothing. One True Check will work regardless of whether an account has Twitter Blue. The same is true of other Twitter features that add icons next to the user name.
-I WAS VERIFIED UNDER TWITTER’S OLD SYSTEM, BUT I DON’T SEE A GREEN CHECK MARK!
Legacy account info is based on public data from November 2022; if you were verified after then, we might have missed you. Contact us with proof of your legacy Twitter verification and we’ll include you in the next update.
-I CHANGED MY USER NAME, AND I LOST THE GREEN CHECK MARK!
Due to technical limits, One True Check uses the user name (the thing after the @, which can change) rather than the user ID (an invisible number that can’t change). If you’ve changed your username recently, contact us with proof and we’ll include you in the next update. Note that changing your display name does not affect One True Check.
-I FOUND A BUG!
Oh no! Sorry for the inconvenience. Tell us here with as many details as you can.
-I WISH ONE TRUE CHECK COULD [FEATURE]!
-WHAT DO YOU HAVE PLANNED FOR THE FUTURE?
